It is probably more important, however, to stay out of the worst teams list.CBS Sports just published its new “Bottom 25,” and one team remains on top…or, well, at the bottom. The UTEP Miners are 0-5 under new head coach Dana Dimel, coming off of an 0-12 campaign. Previous head coach Sean Kugler resigned after five games in the 2017 season. The Miners have lost by an average of 17.6 points per game, including a 30-10 loss to FCS opponent Northern Arizona. If there’s a bright side, the last two games have been the closest of the year, with a 27-20 loss to New Mexico State and 30-21 loss to fellow ‘Bottom 25’ squad UTSA.Here’s what CBS Sports’ Tom Fornelli has to say about UTEP football:UTEP showed that Bottom 25 champions are Bottom 25 champions for a reason in its loss to UTSA last week, and now it has a date with a North Texas team that’s angry after a loss to Louisiana Tech.North Texas can score points in bunches, so that could get ugly. After the Miners, a pair of underperforming Power Five programs pop up. 0-4 Nebraska is at No. 2, after a loss to Purdue. At No. 3 is 0-4 UCLA, which has looked really rough so far under Chip Kelly.Arkansas, North Carolina, Oregon State, and Rutgers are among the other big programs to pop up.
