RCB vs KKR: Chris Lynn back with a bang after shoulder injury to resurrect Kolkata campaign

first_imgKolkata Knight Riders’ Chris Lynn scored a quickfire fifty off just 21 balls on his return to the playing XI as the Kolkata franchise got off to a fiery start in chase of 159 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday.Lynn’s fifty was laced with five fours and four sixes even as he brought up his milestone with a quite single.Lynn, however, missed out on breaking his own record of a 19-ball fifty, which he scored against Gujarat Lions in Kolkata’s opening match of the season.More records were broken in the match as his partner Sunil Narine slammed the joint-fastest fifty in the history of the Indian Premier League, equalling Yusuf Pathan’s 50 off 15 balls for KKR against the Sunrisers Hyderabad back in 2014.Lynn had an excellent start to the season when he stitched a record opening partnership of 184 with Gautam Gambhir against Gujarat Lions, and went on to score an unbeaten 93.His joy, though, was cut short as he hurt his left shoulder while attempting a catch during the match against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on April 9, which had kept him out till now.Lynn and Narine’s 105-run opening partnership helped Kolkata chase down the target with six wickets and 29 balls to spare as they climbed to the second position in the table with 16 points.last_img
