Source = e-Travel Blackboard: P.T The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has authorized the alliance between Air New Zealand and Virgin Blue. Air New Zealand chief executive Rob Fyfe was happy about the newly established partnership. “I’m pleased that formal approval has been given recognising the benefits this will bring to our customers,” he said. Initial concerns regarding capacity growth were diminished after both airlines were able to meet the ACCC’s determination demands. “I would like to thank the ACCC for its thorough consideration of the issues and coming to a determination that favours customers and will see the Tasman market continue to grow,” Mr Fyfe said.Air New Zealand is still awaiting the final approval decision regarding its proposed alliance from the New Zealand Minister of Transport, expected in the next few days.
