The second annual Brooklyn Comes Alive was a dreamy success, bringing together dozens of musicians to play in once-in-a-lifetime rotations. Taking over three venues in the heart of Williamsburg, the day-long event will surely go down in the books as one of the more unique of its kind. Of the many highlights was the super group that the String Cheese Incident’s own Jason Hann brought to the stage at The Hall at MP.At roughly 1:45AM, Hann led his acclaimed Rhythmatronix ensemble for a very-late night performance. The drum heavy celebration was led by Hann, with Raul Pineda accompanying on the drums. With bassist Oteil Burbridge, guitarist Fareed Haque, and keyboardist Todd Stoops rounding out the lineup, the group moved through various compositions with a light touch, focusing heavily on exploration. Oteil’s brother Kofi Burbridge sat in on keys and flute throughout the set, as did vocalist Elise Testone, only adding to the magic of this late night jam. The rhythm-heavy beats were a perfect way to put that second wind to good use!You can listen to that full set below, thanks to Eric McRoberts:If you haven’t already, check out the Natalie Cressman & Friends full set, featuring Nikki Glaspie, Will Bernard, Chris Bullock, Benny Rietveld, Samora Pinderhughs, Danny Sadownick, Louis Cato, and Elise Testone.
